First Blog Update

WEEK UNO

We have created a list and titled it "Things we need in order to not get an F." On this list is the following:
  1. Drawing board (This Thing)
  2. Animation program
  3. Music program
  4. Creativeness (Like This Guy Has
  5. A brain (This Thing)
  6. Another brain
  7. A computer
As you can see, that is a long list. Do not fret though, my trusted colleagues, we have checked many of those off. Our dearly beloved Mr. Mason provided the drawing board, my trusted apple products provided us with Garage Band (This Cool Music Making App), and my amazing father provided me the computer. The brains are slowly developing and our creativeness is a bipolar factor that comes and goes. Animation programs are being researched currently, but if we fail to find one, we will use paint and the video programs provided by the school.

In the past week, we also finished part of the "If all else fails use this" song. Here is the song do far if you would like to listen to it.

So what have we learned so far?
  • Making music is not easy and is very tedious.
  • That SoundCloud is amazing and has tons of free music.
  • How to use the drawing board.
  • How to create blogs.
Our next step is to start the video. By the 4th of May, we plan on having an animation program and a few drawings finished and having lyrics to the backup song.

Le Initial Blog

Hello many people of Ms. Mann's class, and welcome Ms. Mann, to the wonderful blog of Thomas and Jasmyn!!

For our genius hour project, Thomas and I decided to combine our amazing passions to create a short animation video. Why do this, you ask? Thomas, as many of you know, is an amazing drawer, so he will be supplying the pictures while Jasmyn, a musical person, will be supplying the music.

Here is the video that inspired Thomas and myself to do this project. It's very cool and I highly suggest you watch it.

Our idea for this animation film is to:

  1. Animate a woman or man dancing a contemporary dance. (Of course, this is very difficult to do and with the given amount of time, this will probably not happen.)
  2. Portray a man trapped inside his own head trying to break free of himself.
  3. Create a world where technology and industry rule.
So what are our goals for this project?

To make a successful and meaningful short animation that has some good music, to learn how to use animation software's, and to draw some awesome pictures and create some amazing music.

So how will we measure our success, I hear you question?

The quality of the video. If we did enough frames/second to make it flow, the music is decent and fits the story, and how well the story line is.
